It seems likely that this cable is fine, since the backlight does work, so I imagine this isn't the issue. The actual backlight is connected to the keyboard from the system board, it uses a separate ribbon cable than the actual keyboard keys. Maybe play around with those, see if they make any difference. On the early Spectre x360 models there was an option to turn on a backlight for the F5 key alone, even when the regular backlight was off (so you could find and activate the backlight in a dark room), and on newer models, there is a timeout option iirc. The keyboard backlight isn't integrated into Windows whatsoever, so it doesn't need drivers or anything.īIOS does have some settings for keyboard backlight. Does the F5 key work in Windows at all? (Fn+F5 to use it as the F5 key, in most web browsers this would refresh the page)
